If there ever has been a clear case for creating an Oscar category for Best Stunts, this is it. Just hand over an Academy Award already.
Like its pint-sized superhero, the film doesn’t quite fit in with the typical MCU big screen canon and is a laid back yet thoroughly forgettable entry into the fatigued superhero genre.
“Last Flag Flying” is a touching riff on friendship, loss, and bonding through grief. It’s incredibly sad, but it’s also achingly beautiful.
The movie is sort of a morality play / sci-fi romance that offers plenty of food for thought as well as entertaining escapism.
