Perhaps this is what the devout refer to as a “religious experience.” I am not a spiritual person, but the beauty of this film moved me.

The showiness eases up as the emotional weight of the story unfolds, but it’s still hard not to get stuck on the challenges of the moviemaking rather than the characters that should be the focal point of the film.

An impeccably detailed, beautifully acted, refined drama with a strong feminist angle that’s as stirring as it is thought-provoking.
