“Greenland 2: Migration”

Ill-conceived sequel “Greenland 2: Migration” feels assembled entirely from leftover disaster movie clichés and rejected streaming scripts. While the first film at least had some tension, this unnecessary follow-up throws all of that out the window in favor of endless nonsense, terrible CGI, and a story so full of plot holes it becomes unintentionally hilarious.

The recycled setup is so lazy. The Garrity family leaves their bunker in Greenland five years after the comet strike to wander across a frozen, ruined Europe in search of a new home. Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin return, but even they look completely checked out trying to sell this mess. Every scene feels like it was copied from a dozen better post-apocalyptic movies, except done with less imagination, less logic, and even less excitement.

The CGI is embarrassingly bad for a modern disaster film. The frozen landscapes look fake, the action scenes are weightless, and every large scale moment feels unfinished and cartoonish. There are moments that are clearly meant to be dramatic but end up unintentionally funny because the writing is so absurd (and the performances so amateurish).

The logic is completely nonexistent. Characters make unbelievably stupid decisions every few minutes just to force the story forward. Massive plot holes are ignored entirely, common sense disappears whenever convenient, and the movie constantly expects the audience to accept ridiculous situations without question. Suspension of disbelief is one thing, but the film asks you to shut your brain off entirely.

What really kills the movie is that there are absolutely zero stakes. Nothing feels dangerous, nothing feels earned, and it’s impossible to become invested in any of the characters because the script never gives them believable motivations or emotional depth. The film just lurches from one generic survival scene to the next with no originality, no suspense, and no sense of purpose.

By the time the terrible ending arrives, it feels less like a conclusion and more like the movie finally giving up. “Greenland 2: Migration” is recycled, formulaic, dumb, and painfully uninspired. This is a totally lifeless disaster flick that somehow manages to be both boring and ridiculous at the same time.
