The detailed artistry is outstanding, but visionary flair coupled with poignant authenticity doesn’t necessarily make an entertaining movie.

“Vox Lux”
The film is ironic, satirical, and just plain weird, but it’s a riveting, unblinking rebuke of society’s willingness to commercialize a traumatized girl.

This surefire Oscar contender is a bawdy, twisted, and unsettling film that is guaranteed to be discussed in creative circles for years to come.
“A Star is Born”
The soundtrack is admittedly fantastic, but there isn’t much else to recommend about this unnecessary remake. It has very little original to say, and it places flash over substance.
“Anna and the Apocalypse”
This is a film geek achievement in offbeat originality that delivers a fresh and fun twist on the zombie genre.
“Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald”
This is a too long, too weak, too confusing jumble of characters and ideas that most outside of the hardcore Harry Potter fan base will struggle to find any enjoyment.
