Movies are our religion and the theater our church. Our gods are named Tarantino, Anderson and Scorsese.
We attend services 3-4 times a week and take our communion in the form of soda and popcorn. We offer up these reviews in hopes of pleasing our deities.

“Hush”
Maddie (Kate Siegel) is a writer who lives in a cabin in the woods. Having recently broken up with a longtime boyfriend, Maddie seeks the peace and solitude offered by the cabin. But it is this isolation that has made Maddie a target of a man in a mask (John Gallagher Jr.), who has come to kill her.
“Kevin Hart: What Now?”
“What Now?” is sure to please fans of Kevin Hart’s comedy. For the uninitiated, it’s also a good introduction to the comedian and his musings.
“Sully”
I can’t speak to how accurate it might be as a depiction of an actual historical event and its aftermath, but as a movie “Sully” is pretty entertaining.
“Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children”
The tween sci-fi / fantasy genre is the perfect match for director Tim Burton. His signature bizarro style and grim tone fits like a glove with the whimsical, fantastic “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.” This film is spooky, stylish, and wondrously bizarre. There’s a nightmarish vision that’s fully realized and brought to life with a great deal of visually stunning special effects.
