When put up against other movies, “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” isn’t going to land anywhere near the top of the list. But when compared to similar films in the kaiju genre, it’s a grade A effort.
The film has a surprising low-budget feel that’s well-suited to Chazelle’s style and doesn’t stray far from his indie film roots.
The characters in “Game Night” are well-written and witty, with some razor-sharp, stinging dialogue. The natural onscreen chemistry of the actors is what elevates the film.
Let’s just get right to the point here: in “Manchester By The Sea,” Casey Affleck is as great, if not even greater, than you’ve heard. The movie itself is not.
