This story sounds like something that could be ripped from the headlines and it works as a satisfying, intelligent, adult political thriller for the most part.

FANATICAL ABOUT FILM!
Movies are our religion and the theater our church. Our gods are named Tarantino, Anderson and Scorsese.
We attend services 3-4 times a week and take our communion in the form of soda and popcorn. We offer up these reviews in hopes of pleasing our deities.
Please share your own comments on our reviews. We encourage all forms of respectful debate. We are, after all, “Fanatical About Film”!

“Underworld: Blood Wars”
There isn’t much substance here but “Underworld: Blood Wars” provides enough fun escapism for a couple of hours.
“Hidden Figures”
How fantastic it is to see a movie where one of the core messages is that society should highly value education and intelligence, making America a place where anyone can strive to rise above what they’ve been dealt instead of hurtling towards an idiocracy.
“Patriots Day”
I would’ve preferred to see a documentary movie, period, instead of this dramatic recreation.
“Lion”
In the end, “Lion” sadly feels like nothing more than a strained, contrived tearjerker.
“Passengers”
The movie is sort of a morality play / sci-fi romance that offers plenty of food for thought as well as entertaining escapism.
