FANATICAL ABOUT FILM!
Movies are our religion and the theater our church. Our gods are named Tarantino, Anderson and Scorsese.
We attend services 3-4 times a week and take our communion in the form of soda and popcorn. We offer up these reviews in hopes of pleasing our deities.

If We Picked the Oscars
If we were Academy voters, here’s a peek at what our 2018 ballots would look like.
“Every Day”
A wholly bizarre film that blends a classic romance with modern social commentary, culminating in an end message that love not only conquers all but it outshines race, gender, and social status.
“Game Night”
The characters in “Game Night” are well-written and witty, with some razor-sharp, stinging dialogue. The natural onscreen chemistry of the actors is what elevates the film.
“Annihilation”
There are allusions to the ritual of spirituality and the doctrine of science, from sinners to global warming to feminism to gender roles. The aspirations are grand, but what does it all mean?
“Black Panther”
Let’s hope Hollywood will listen and put more people of color both in heroic roles in front of the camera and in creative roles behind it.
