Dragging out this drab “Star Wars” rip-off into two parts is excessive, but hopefully the second installment will fare better.

Based on the international best-selling autobiography, the film brings the epic story of Henri “Papillon” Charrière back to the screen with a gritty and violent streak.

There real problem with this one is its indifference. The movie is mostly just a lot of noise and a lot of style over substance, resulting in a whole lot of bored audiences.
