There’s not much going on here but a cacophony of indecipherable obscurity that’s masquerading as high art. I struggled to get through this film, and you will too.

FANATICAL ABOUT FILM!
Movies are our religion and the theater our church. Our gods are named Tarantino, Anderson and Scorsese.
We attend services 3-4 times a week and take our communion in the form of soda and popcorn. We offer up these reviews in hopes of pleasing our deities.
Please share your own comments on our reviews. We encourage all forms of respectful debate. We are, after all, “Fanatical About Film”!

“Equals”
“Equals” effectively squanders a true indie film pedigree with a bland, unexciting sci-fi romance / thriller.
“Desierto”
The inflammatory, politically charged film “Desierto” is nothing if not timely, and how I wish this wasn’t the case.
“I’m Not Ashamed”
This biopic is no doubt for the devout, but this isn’t a completely unwatchable movie like so many others in the devotional genre.
“The Duel”
The opening scene of “The Duel” is all you need to see in order to determine if you’re going to want to continue watching or stop after the film’s first two minutes.
“The Dressmaker”
This isn’t a movie for everyone but if you’d like to experience a couple of hours of charming strangeness, you should seek it out.
